  • 1. Free Consultation

We start every project by providing a free on-site consultation. There, we'll discuss any issues with your current landscape and what your goals for improvement are. These meetings typically include discussion of desired colors, materials, specific features, and budget.

We'll briefly note your site conditions and recommend the best way to proceed.

After this initial meeting, we'll send you an estimate detailing the potential cost of your project and our service agreement.

  • 2. Site Survey & Conditions Analysis

Most projects require a site survey to be performed. We partner with professional landscape surveyors who will create scale maps of your property's boundaries, elevations, existing buildings and structures, hardscaping, garden beds, and more.

We use these maps as the base for our Concept and Planting Designs.

While the surveyors are creating their maps, we will analyze your site further. We take photographs, map out the sun's path over your property, and examine soil, light, and wind conditions.

A professional landscape survey ensures that our work is accurate, detailed, and takes into account the myriad of complex site conditions for your specific property.

Deliverables: Scale maps of your property with the house location, property boundaries, elevations, existing features, water bodies, utilities, and first floor doors and windows. Clients can opt for boundaries to be physically marked with pins for an extra fee.

  • 3. Concept Design

Using the data collected from the surveys, we will create the arguably most important piece of your project— the Concept Design. Together, we make crucial choices that determine things like the locations of permanent features, including trees, shrubs, hedging, hardscaping, structures, paths, and more.

This stage is important for working out the overall layout and flow of the property. It's important to optimize the layout of your landscape early on. This way, you can be certain that your property will continue to suit all your needs for years to come.

We also create a materials palette and plant palette. With ample visual aids, you'll be able to see how the proposed plants' colors and textures play with other suggested materials.

Deliverables: Scale property map with locations of permanent features, plant palette, materials palette, and realistic 3D renderings.

  • 4. Planting Design

Once the skeleton of your landscape is decided, we can lay out the planting scheme. Because the plants are chosen in the Concept Design phase, we simply have to arrange them on the property according to aesthetics and practicality.

We will provide a more detailed breakdown of the chosen plants. You'll receive colorful charts showing what will bloom, when, and each plant's size, native range, and ecological benefits.

Like the others, this phase is totally collaborative. We make sure you're thrilled with each choice before moving on to another step.

Deliverables: A final plant palette, plant information chart, scale map of plant layout, and realistic 3D renderings of the gardens at maturity.
